MAP GRID

Welcome to Global Cortex, a place for Ravens.

Global Cortex seeks Neutrality amongst the Raven Clans, and will have no interferince between them. We will only supply them with armor and weapons for their Cores.

If you were a member of the Ravens Nest in the past, most of this should be familiar to you. Well, some of it. We have changed many of things relating to battle and how your core is built. So let us explore how these things are done.

Next, lets show you the basics of Core Building.

Core building is as easy as 1, 2, Pi.

Your Core is built up of Many parts, the Head, the Core, the Arms, the Legs, and the Weapons.
To start you pick your parts, for now we are starting out with the "Basic" set.

Basic Head (1200) (5)
Basic Arms (900)
Basic Core (2800) (0) (-) (100)
Basic Legs (1500) (3)

You may notice there are numbers next to the parts names, now dont let this confuse you, the numbers are simple. Lets start out with the first number. (1200) is the armor of the Head part. Armor is how much damage the object can take before it is immobile or ceases to function. Your armor value is a sum equal to all of the parts. 1200 + 900 + 2800 + 1500 = 6400 Armor. Simple, no?

Now onto the Second Number (5). Each part of the core has its own functions that assist your core in battle. The Head unit is your "Radar" center of your Core, The basic Core has a Radar Range of 5, so, 5 blocks in all directions and anything inbetween is viewable on your radar. We will get to the Maps and Radar later in the FAQ.

The Core is Divided into two sections, OB and EO.
The OB stands for Over boost, Over boosting drains your energy, but gives you more movement. The basic Core Over Boost allows you two times movement than normal running.
The EO stands for Exceed Orbit, Exceed Orbit also drains your energy, but gives you another weapon to fire from. Each EO is different, some have longer range, some have a larger attack, and some are just faster at firing.

You will notice by the Basic Cores Armor there is a number, that number is the ammount of Damage Reflection. Damage Reflection reduces the amount of damage the core will take, allowing the core to stay in battle long enough to defeat your opponent.

Next to the Damage Reflection number is normally another number, but on the basic model there isnt one. But as an example I will show you what a Specialized Cores stats would look like.

Upgraded Armor OB (3200) (+1) (x2) (110)
Upgraded Armor EO (3200) (-1) (S 3 : D 3 : E 10) (110)

We will get into that later in the FAQ as to what the S, D and E values mean.

Next to the Specilized Number (the third number), is the Generators charge. This tells you how much Energy the Generator will output to you for your Weapons, boosting, and overboosting. We will also get into this later in the FAQ.

The Legs second number is how far it can move in battle, its basically how far/fast it can run in 1 round. 3 Spaces is how far/fast it can run on the basic model.

Now we are going to talk about Weapons and Ammunition.

Weapons are easy to learn as long as you keep an open mind and read this FAQ.

There is normally three or four values, S, D, and E, R.
S stands for Speed of the Ammo.
D stands for the Damage the Ammo can give.
E stands for the Energy it uses up if you are using an energy weapon.
R stands for Range.

When you attack, you subtract the Weapons Energy value from your current energy
The Range is how far the ammo can go before it stops.

The way damage is done is as simple as the sky turning dark during a rainstorm.

Weapon Damage = ((Damage * Speed) - Distance - (Damage Reflection * Damage)) * Dice

We are going to use this weapon; Basic Sword (S5:D4:E5:R1)
The opponent is 1 block away, The opponent has no Damage Reflection, and you rolled a 5 on your dice
Weapon Damage = ((4 * 5) - 1 - (0 * 4)) * 5
Weapon Damage = ((20) - 1 - 0) * 5
Weapon Damage = 19 * 5
Weapon Damage = 95

This may seem like alot of math, but no fear, I will be making a calculator for combat damage.

With this attack by the Sword you used up 5 Energy.

Moving onto energy, The Core is the power house of the Mech, and on the Basic Armor can generate 100 Energy. You now have 95 Energy left.

Movement is just as easy.

On the map, There are blocks to move into, every block simulates 50 yards, this is a building block for how far your core can go. Dont worry, all the numbers that deal with movement will be noted as blocks, not by yards (I know how complicated it can get). Your legs are the parts that allow you to move, the second number (the number next to its armor value) is how far you can go (in blocks).

Basic Legs (1500) (3)

Every Turn you regenerate 10% of your Energy, which is 10 energy for a basic set. Now, there are three choices you can use (only one per turn) to move. Run, Boost, Overboost. Running you take your normal movement value and use that. Boosting comes from your core, and allows you to move spaces equal to 50% of your movement Value (rounded down), but uses up 25% (or 1/4th) of your energy. And Overboosting lets you move a value equal to the Overboost value, but takes away 50% (or 1/2) of your energy.

Basic Legs (1500) (3)
Upgraded Core OB (3000) (+1) (x2)

If you run you can move 3 spaces (in 8 directions, North, North West, West, South West, South, South East, East, North East), with available turning. As an Example, You go North, then North East, Then East.

If you boost, you can move one extra space (3 x 0.5 = 1.5 + 3 = 4.5 or 4), so you can move 4 spaces in only one direction, there is no turning. As an Example, NW by 4 spaces, or SW by 4 spaces.

If you Overboost, you can move twice your movement (3 x 2 = 6), now you can move 6 spaces also only in one direction. Use the Boost example just replace 4 with 6.

You gain Experience by winning a battle, experience is calculated as this.

Exp Gain = (# of Opponents * Level) * 20

Heres an example:

Your team of 5 people is facing another team of 5 people, everyone is level 1.

Exp Gain = (5 * 1) * 20
Exp Gain = 5 * 20
Exp Gain = 100

Now Each level set has different Experience Limits that goes as the following.

Level - Max Exp
level (1 - 10) 100
level (11 - 20) 200
level (21 - 30) 300
level (31 - 40) 400
level (41 - 45) 500
level (45 - 50) 1000

Simple as Pie! And I think that about wraps things up. If you have any questions seek a Global Cortex Admin and they will help you as soon as possible
