[STORY] S.S. Global Cortex (update: 1-20-08)

The space station Global Cortex is a monument of the once great group of ravens and their operators, Global Cortex. We will never forget that long awaited end to the war, and surely we will not forget the problems and solutions found on those days.

The history:

There was a war, over money, land, power, food, people, and even ego's. This was how it was for many centuries, and decades, all the same. A fight starts, and then it becomes a war. Flash forward to a time where peace existed for longer than just a few years, it lasted over a century. This feat was amazing, the countries were proud of each other. They felt a sense of joy, and in that joy, came the ego's to match. Although there was peace for centuries, that didn't stop the countries from setting up for another long awaited war, and with a century of frustration and holding back, this was not going to be a war short lived.

In the time it took for the peace to be over, came the first mobile armored suit, also known as Cores. These "Armored Cores" were used as ways to bring what one country called "Peace" but the other, "Hostility". No one knows who brought out the first core, or who brought out the first weapon, but, as time passed, no one cared.

Many years raged on, generations after generations of fighting for the same cause, never wavering at all, even the slightest bit, but then, there was a flash, a flash you could see from everywhere, from anywhere, it engulfed the whole world. This wasn't a Nuclear bomb, It wasn't an EMP Blast. It was a flash that changed the tide of the war, from hostilities, to peace, no one knew how it happened, no one knew what it would bring, but at one point in time, everyone was happy.

... ... ... But with any long period of time of peace, there are there corrupter's. The world became one large nation, no fighting, no wars, no point to this seeking of land, money, power, people, food, it was all shared. A mutual peace amongst the war, technology advanced faster than ever, and with this technology came the companies that wanted to take it over, and keep it for themselves. Sooner or later, these companies fought over the technologies, but never in plain view. Underground, in the forgotten areas of the world, the "Under-cities" that were once used as combat bunkers, and combat living areas. The winners, would give up their technology, and leave... alive...

Now only time will tell when the next war will start, and which company will slip up and bring the war above ground. will there be an end of the peace, or will there be continued and ever lasting happiness?

Chapter 1 Summary:

The new recruits and Arc met up in the Ops building, they were each issued a job. Train(siken) would be trained how to use the satilite tracking software, while Arc(DoS) and Ryu would train with each other. After a while of training and a drunken rave by Train, Train(siken) and Ryu were both sent to Train with Arc. Getting quite bored Arc suggested core combat, with the agreement of Kariou, Arc and Ryu were off to the simulation room.

A battle insewed and soon a victor aroze. Arc won as expected of a Core Veteran, he knew his strategy back and front.

Chapter 1 Ending:

By the end of the day, they all will understand what is going to be ahead of them... For they do not know when the convoy will arive, nor the battles that lie ahead. Soon, there will be a reason to worry. Soon there will be a reason to be sad, and soon, there will be a reason to be upset. Their commander, Kariou Shomei, knows more than he says, but will he divulge this information? Will he tell them of the death trap ahead? Only time will tell.

When the Global Cortex Base Station blew up, it was one Raven that was able to commit to this feat. The cores name was System 2501. Who piloted that core? No one knew, It was said that at the time AI Core's were existant, and that the Intelegence Quotient was quite high on them. The AI Cores never missed, never stood down, they never had to worry about damage because they didnt feal pain, they didnt know how to stop until they couldnt move. Until now, there was no talk about AI Cores, along the Val Grand Line on Earth, but knowledge of AI Cores is spreading, and the next one to hear it in his ears is the commander himself, Kariou Shomei.
